Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Mentor to join our Alternative Provision team in Plymouth. In this role, you won't just be working in a classroom-you will make a genuine, lasting difference in a young person's life by supporting them in developing personalised strategies to manage their learning, build resilience, and thrive both in educational settings and out in the wider community.
Responsibilities:- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
- Help students build practical coping strategies to succeed inside the classroom.
- Deliver engaging community-based activities to build confidence, life skills, and social integration.
- Serve as a positive role model, guiding students through academic and personal challenges.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and external agencies to track progress and wellbeing.
- Education: Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in both English and Maths.
- Transport: Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle (business mileage can be claimed).
- Experience: A background in youth work, SEN, alternative provision, or care settings is highly desirable.

- Pay Rate: £92.56 - £95.00 per day.
- Schedule: Consistent daytime hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, 35 hours/week).
