Key Responsibilities
Dispatch & Transport Coordination:
Arrange suitable vehicles with approved transporters as per load, route and delivery schedule.
Coordinate placement with Stores/Dispatch and ensure loading readiness as per plan.
Track vehicles in transit, update ETAs, and follow up for POD/LR acknowledgements.
Local Transportation & Company Pickup Vehicle:
Plan supplier pickups and local movements; consolidate and optimise routes where feasible.
Schedule the company pickup vehicle; maintain trip log and utilisation record.
Coordinate with Procurement/Stores for supplier readiness, challans and inward handover.
Documentation & Freight Billing Controls:
Coordinate LR/packing list/dispatch intimation as per SOP and provide data for e-way bill (where applicable).
Validate transporter bills with LR/POD against agreed rates and approved extra charges; submit to Accounts.
Maintain dispatch and pickup trackers and escalate risks early (vehicle non-availability, delays, cost deviations).
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure basic load safety practices (packing/strapping) during loading and local movements.
Support audits/records related to movement of material, as required.
