Key Responsibilities
Heavy Overhaul: Perform removal, installation, and maintenance of rolling stock bogies.
Component Maintenance: Replace bearings and wheels using specialized machinery, and rebuild gearboxes and traction motors.
System Repairs: Overhaul braking systems and identify defects through technical fault diagnosis.
Quality & Safety: Ensure all work meets engineering specifications and WHS requirements while maintaining accurate documentation.
Collaboration: Work alongside engineers and supervisors to meet strict overhaul schedules.
Skills & Experience
We value passion and attitude, but the following qualifications will help you succeed:
Qualifications: Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering and a Trade Qualification as a Licensed Mechanical Fitter/Machinist.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including suspension, bearings, and braking components.
Experience: Previous experience in heavy mechanical maintenance (Rail, Automotive, or Industrial) is preferred.
Equipment: Experience operating heavy machinery, machining, and overhead cranes.
Aptitude: Ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
Candidates will need to undergo Pre-Employment Medicals.
