about the company
Randstad is exclusively partnering with a globally recognized, top-tier professional services and business advisory firm. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to solving complex business challenges, they are currently expanding their specialist advisory division.
We are seeking experienced financial auditors who are ready to step beyond traditional statutory audit. If you are looking to turn your audit foundation into a launchpad for investigative work, fraud detection, and litigation support, this is the perfect platform for you.
The Role: Step Beyond Traditional Statutory Audit
As a Forensic Auditor, you will go beyond routine compliance. You will act as a financial detective—uncovering the hidden stories behind the numbers, reconstructing past events, and playing a highly meaningful role in supporting high-stakes legal and dispute matters. This role is uniquely designed as a career accelerator for audit professionals aspiring to become recognized expert accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigation & Analysis: Leverage your audit experience to investigate financial irregularities and potential fraud. Perform deep-dive analyses of financial statements, accounting records, and complex transactional data.
- Evidence Gathering: Compile, organize, and analyze documentary evidence, including financial records, contracts, correspondence, and digital data, to support targeted investigations.
- Financial Reconstruction: Reconstruct events and transaction flows to establish concrete timelines, uncover how incidents transpired, and accurately quantify financial impacts and losses.
- Expert Reporting: Prepare comprehensive investigation and expert reports that are clear, objective, and defensible in a court of law.
- Strategic Collaboration: Participate in critical case strategy discussions with lawyers and external advisors. Collaborate confidentially with internal audit, risk, and legal teams on highly sensitive matters.
Your Career Pathway (From Auditor to Expert)
- Gain highly sought-after, hands-on experience in forensic investigations and dispute advisory.
- Develop the technical depth required for expert report writing and legal testimony.
- Work alongside and receive mentorship from experienced forensic specialists and legal professionals.
- Build your credibility and portfolio toward becoming a court-recognized expert witness.
- Specialize in niche, high-value areas such as fraud investigation, business valuation, or damages assessment.
- Enjoy a fully supported pathway toward advanced professional certifications (e.g., CFE) and expert accreditation.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of robust experience in external or internal financial audit. Prior experience in preparing expert reports or working alongside legal counsel in dispute resolution is a strong advantage.
- Education: A recognized Professional Qualification (CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent). Possessing or currently pursuing a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is a distinct plus.
- Technical Skills: A strong, foundational grasp of financial reporting, standard audit methodologies, and internal controls.
- Attributes: A robust analytical mindset coupled with strong professional skepticism.
- Communication: Exceptional report-writing skills. You must possess the unique ability to translate highly complex financial issues into clear, concise, and strategically persuasive narratives for non-financial stakeholders (e.g., judges, lawyers).
