Are you looking to shape the future of personal care? As a Mechanical Engineer within our Mechanical Engineering (ME) Group, you will drive the product development of next-generation Grooming and Beauty appliances (including Shavers, Groomers, OneBlade, Epilators, IPL, and accessories). From initial design concepts to mass production, you will work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to turn innovative ideas into high-volume consumer products.

As a core member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the mechanical design, implementation, testing, and documentation necessary to support the development of cutting-edge mechanical modules and components.
You will implement new concepts that deliver real value to our customers worldwide. Collaborating with both our on-site team and offshore development partners, you will design, verify, and validate mechanical architectures, detailing parts in 3D and 2D toward final technical product specifications. Acting as the technical counterpart for commercial managers and designers, your work will directly ensure we realize the most attractive and competitive appliances on the market.
You will join the Grooming & Beauty Mechanical Engineering Team of Philips , a vibrant group of over 20 enthusiastic technical specialists who thrive on delivering great results in a fast-paced environment. We pride ourselves on cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and open workspace where we regularly celebrate our successes. In this role, you will report directly to the Mechanical Engineering Group Leader.
You will lead the design, prototyping, and testing phases of product development by carrying out the following tasks:
- Design & Engineering: Detail mechanical components and systems according to product requirements, including conducting predictive analysis and calculations. Select appropriate metal and plastic materials and manufacturing processes.
- DFM/DFA: Create 3D and 2D files incorporating strict Design for (Mass) Manufacturing and Design for Assembly requirements.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage product requirements, lead DFMEAs, and follow the V-model development methodology. Document your choices and evidence in a Design History File (DHF) and archive design files in Windchill.
- Prototyping & Testing: Obtain parts, create functional prototypes, write test protocols, conduct tests, analyze data, and report results. Develop new test methods and tools in close collaboration with Test & Verification (T&V) architects.
- Project Leadership: Lead ideation sessions, drive concept creation, and own decision-making. Plan and prioritize your own work via an Agile approach, managing interfaces with other modules. Depending on the project, you may maintain oversight of the complete appliance development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Successfully interact with Systems Engineering, Architecture, Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, and commercial teams to achieve project objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps and implement improvements to elevate the capabilities of the mechanical engineering group. Capture, re-use, and share engineering knowledge.
