We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana. This full-time position requires a strong understanding of medical coding principles and a proven ability to accurately translate medical documentation into standardized codes.
Responsibilities:- Accurately abstract and assign appropriate ICD-10 and IPDRG codes to diagnoses and procedures based on medical records.
- Review patient charts, physician documentation, and test results to ensure complete and accurate coding.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or missing information in medical documentation.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and coding inquiries.
- Assist in the review and auditing of medical records for coding accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on coding changes.
- Contribute to the efficient workflow of the coding department in inpatient settings.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in a relevant field.
- 1 to 10 years of experience in medical coding, with a focus on inpatient coding.
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding systems.
- Experience with IPDRG and ICH 10 is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
