Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll Manager – ANZ Outsourcing Specialist

About The Role:
We are partnering with an established organisation to recruit a Payroll Manager/Senior Payroll Manager who has great exposure in outsourcing/third party payroll exposure. This role is perfect for someone who has great leadership skills, able to drive solutions and resolve any escalation and able to oversee our ANZ payroll operations, manage key client relationships, and lead a high-performing team of specialists.
This role combines high-visibility client engagement, team leadership, technical quality control, and strategic problem-solving. Candidates must have a background working within a third-party payroll outsourcing bureau, BPO, or managed payroll services provider handling external ANZ client portfolios. In-house corporate payroll profiles will not be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide our award-winning service to clients to maintain client relationship on regular basis
- Responsible for ANZ clients' payroll calculation(e.g., salaries, leave, commission, and other compensation calculations)
- Lead a team to provide payroll outsourcing services and responsible for the team's Service Level Agreement
- Review payroll computations, payroll reports, bank submission file, annual returns prepared by payroll team members and ensure accuracy
- Work with Headquarter on bank files authorization
- Liaise with providers and local authorities in relation to pensions, social insurances and taxes
- Maintain updated and accurate payroll data and staff information in the Payroll System
- Participate clients meeting and provide professional advice on HR/ payroll issues and any other issues relate to employment act
- Manage HR reports such as movement, headcount, summary, cost centre allocation and payroll breakdown reports
- Assist and coach team members on the best way to communicate with clients should there be any issues
- Implement SOP on certain payroll processing and update from time to time
- Should there be any errors, understand the errors made by the team members and advise the solution diagram to prevent the same issues from happening again
- Responsible for implementing a new payroll setup (database, payroll & leave administration)
What We Are Looking For
- Outsourcing Industry Pedigree: Proven experience working inside a payroll bureau, BPO, or managed services firm servicing external client accounts.
- 7+ Years ANZ Payroll Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of Australian & New Zealand payroll processing, tax, superannuation, KiwiSaver, STP Phase 2, and Modern Award/EBA interpretations.
- Proven Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in managing, developing, and inspiring regional payroll specialists in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Solutions-Oriented Mindset: Strong ability to de-escalate client issues, resolve complex calculation errors, and establish preventive workflows under tight deadlines.
- Implementation Track Record: Hands-on experience executing new payroll software onboardings and client database builds from scratch.
