Are you a skilled Plumber looking for a stable, professional to provide essential maintenance and high-quality repairs across the University of Southampton's student accommodation and campus buildings.
The Role
You will be responsible for a wide range of domestic and commercial plumbing tasks, ensuring all facilities are safe and functional for students and staff.
Key Tasks:
Installation: Fitting sanitary ware and first/second fix pipework.
Maintenance: Servicing PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and working on unvented systems.
Fault Finding: Diagnosing and rectifying leaks, blocks, and core plumbing faults.
Emergency Response: Responding swiftly to urgent repairs and participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
Multi-Trade Support: Assisting other trades within the Mountjoy group as needed.
What You'll Need
Experience: 2-5 years in Building Maintenance (ideally within an Education environment).
Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to Health & Safety.
Communication: Ability to use a PDA/phone to log work and interact professionally with university representatives and residents.
Efficiency: A self-motivated mindset to complete jobs "right first time" and minimize non-productive time.
