Principal Data Engineer
Principal Data Engineer (Technical Lead)
The Role We are seeking a Principal Engineer to act as a hands-on Tech Lead. This is a Player-Coach role where you will own the data architecture, mentor the team, and write code to drive our migration from legacy systems to a modern cloud platform.
Core Responsibilities
Architect & Build: Design high-level strategy while coding daily (SQL, Python, dbt).
Modernise: Drive the technical migration from SSIS/SQL Server to Snowflake.
Lead: Act as the primary technical authority and mentor for the engineering squad.
Must-Have Skills
Architecture: Expert background in platform design and data modeling (Data Vault is a plus).
Modern Stack: Expert-level Snowflake and strong hands-on dbt experience.
Cloud & Scripting: Proficiency in Azure and production-level Python.
Legacy Systems: Deep expertise in SQL Server and SSIS (specifically for migration strategies).
Leadership: Proven ability to lead code reviews and mentor engineers.
