Randstad is proud to be working with a leading Victorian council in Melbourne’s West to recruit an experienced Site based Project Manager to oversee the delivery of major community infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the construction phase of high-profile community developments including a new aquatic centre and other library, pavilions and other Council related building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the construction phase of major capital works projects.
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are achieved.
- Monitor project progress, complete regular site inspections, and address issues or risks to maintain timelines.
- Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in alignment with council policies and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations for senior management and council committees.
- Facilitate strong communication and collaboration across project teams, community groups, and stakeholders.
- Implement effective risk management strategies and resolve project-related conflicts.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in project and/or construction management. (Site based experience is required)
- Proven ability to deliver Capital Works Projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Strong stakeholder and contractor management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Local Government or council project management experience (highly regarded).
- Current driver’s licence.
