• Lead and manage the construction phase of major capital works projects.
• Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are achieved.
• Monitor project progress, complete regular site inspections, and address issues or risks to maintain timelines.
• Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in alignment with council policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations for senior management and council committees.
• Facilitate strong communication and collaboration across project teams, community groups, and stakeholders.
• Implement effective risk management strategies and resolve project-related conflicts.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in project and/or construction management. (Site based experience is required)
• Proven ability to deliver Capital Works Projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Strong stakeholder and contractor management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Local Government or council project management experience (highly regarded).
• Current driver’s licence.
