Job Purpose
Responsible for procurement of raw materials, consumables, tooling, and services for manufacturing industry, ensuring timely availability, cost control, quality compliance, and effective vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Communication
- Procure foundry and machining materials such as castings, alloy steel, pig iron, ferro alloys, scrap, tools, inserts, coolants, oils, sand, resins, and chemicals.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding quotations, negotiations, order status, delivery schedules, and discrepancies.
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up to ensure on‑time delivery.
Cost Control & Quality Coordination
- Support price negotiations and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Stores for material specifications and acceptance.
- Ensure materials comply with technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel (PO tracking, vendor comparison, inventory reports, cost analysis).
- Excellent vendor communication and coordination skills (verbal and written).
- Understanding of foundry and camshaft machining materials and processes.
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle or similar).
- Good negotiation, follow‑up, and documentation skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent.

- 1 to 2 years’ experience in purchase/procurement within:
