As a Senior Consultant for Finance Transformation and IFRS 17 Managed Services, you will play a dual role in both "Run" and "Build" capacities. You will be responsible for the end-to-end IFRS 17 reporting cycle—ensuring data integrity and accurate disclosures—while simultaneously leading initiatives to modernize the finance function. You will act as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and Actuarial teams, ensuring that the IFRS 17 engine (Moody’s Risk Integrity or similar) integrates seamlessly with the general ledger to produce high-quality management and regulatory insights.
...
Advantages
High-Impact Work: Direct influence on the evolution of a major insurance carrier’s finance architecture.
Technical Growth: Deepen your expertise in IFRS 17, one of the most complex and sought-after accounting standards in the global market.
Strategic Exposure: Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in a high-visibility role.
Innovation-Driven Environment: Join a team that prioritizes modern technology (like Moody’s RiskIntegrity) and agile methodologies over "the way things have always been done."
Responsibilities
Finance Transformation: Lead and execute initiatives to streamline month-end close and reporting cycles. Identify bottlenecks, standardize workflows, and implement automated controls to enhance data quality.
Process Design: Document and implement "Future State" processes for financial statements, management reporting (MI/KPIs), and local regulatory filings.
IFRS 17 Managed Services: Support the full production cycle, including data ingestion, model execution, application of accounting policies, and postings to the subledger/GL.
Reporting & Analysis: Perform complex reconciliations and variance analysis; prepare IFRS 17 disclosures and ensure alignment with underlying actuarial assumptions.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Actuarial teams to validate results and ensure timely delivery of IFRS 17 outputs.
Project Management: Manage deliverables and timelines, proactively identify risks, and drive the resolution of technical or operational issues.
Qualifications
Professional Designation: Active CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is required.
Industry Experience: Proven experience within the Insurance industry, specifically focusing on financial, management, or regulatory reporting.
IFRS 17 Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 17 standards; hands-on experience with an IFRS 17 engine (e.g., Moody’s RiskIntegrity, Aptitude, or SAS) is considered a significant asset.
Transformation Mindset: Demonstrated experience in process improvement, finance systems implementation, or standardizing reporting cycles.
Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical accounting and actuarial concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Summary
