• Conduct regular site visits and client "entertainment" meetings to build long-term, trust-based professional relationships.
• Identify new business opportunities within the oil and gas, mining, and fabrication sectors to expand market share.
• Maintain high visibility in the Calgary downtown core and surrounding industrial hubs, operating effectively from a home-based office.
• Participate in the performance incentive program by achieving regional growth targets.
• Provide accurate forecasting and market feedback to the Regional Sales Manager and the Sales & Marketing leadership team.
Qualifications
• Proven "winning mentality" with a proactive, self-motivated approach to business development.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface professionally with executive-level stakeholders.
• Exceptional relationship-building abilities, mirroring a "teammate" philosophy that values collective goals.
• Technical aptitude or the willingness to undergo intensive training to master the specifications of carbon steel and PVF products.
• Strategic thinking skills to navigate a competitive landscape featuring major industrial distributors.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a home-based territory with infrequent travel in surrounding areas
• Previous experience in an outside sales, Account Manager, or business development role, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with carbon steel products (pipe, fittings, valves) is a significant asset but not a strict requirement for those with a strong sales pedigree.
• Ability to commit to a mandatory training period of 6 to 8 weeks located in Edmonton.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for territory travel.
• Residing in or willing to relocate to the Calgary area, with the ability to work effectively from a home office.
• A professional demeanor suitable for representing a major player in the Sales landscape.
