We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join the Insurance sector for a high-impact, 6-month contract based in Wellington. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of complex, enterprise-wide technology platforms, specifically focusing on core systems like claims, billing, and policy management.

As a Senior specialist, you will leverage your expertise in BDD frameworks to drive testing excellence. This role offers an immediate start for a professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys mentoring others while delivering robust automation solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead end-to-end automation testing for complex insurance platforms and core enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain robust BDD frameworks utilising Cucumber to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Execute risk-based testing strategies for business applications, including claims and policy management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using JIRA and Confluence for seamless defect management.
• Coach and mentor junior to mid-level testers to uplift internal automation capabilities.
• Manage CI/CD integration and version control using tools like Jenkins and Git.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Testing Specialist is mandatory.
• Expert knowledge of BDD frameworks based on Cucumber is essential for this role.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Ruby, or Python.
• Proven experience with Selenium and Ruby/Cucumber for automated testing is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with API testing tools including SoapUI and Postman is a significant plus.
• Strong background in the insurance sector, specifically with billing and document systems.
