PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Lead the sourcing function to ensure that service and costs are maintained and stock is available within the timescales required to meet customer demand.
In conjunction with Group Purchasing Manager and local staff manage purchasing and delivery of products to relevant Group locations, liaising with all relevant personnel.
Support Group Purchasing Manager with targeted cost reduction in line with business requirements.
Support Group Purchasing Manager with targeted supplier development, selection, contract review and auditing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Continually review supply chain to ensure best service/costs are achieved in line with company targets.
·Obtain competitive quotations from existing and potential new suppliers.
·Compare and review samples supplied from Group companies to samples from local suppliers.
·Manage / review overall stock valuation in line with company targets (with Group Purchasing Manager)
·In conjunction with Group Purchasing Manager develop and continually review stockholding/reorder levels (stocking policy) to ensure stock availability to support Group demand, to minimise stockholding value to match forecasted or historic demand (as is available).
·Consolidation of shipments to Group locations
·Liaison with Sales on bespoke orders/projects – relating to costs and lead-times.
·Liaison with Group Purchasing Manager / Design regarding specific projects development and New Product Introduction.
·Sending RFQ’s to suppliers for new products required.
·In conjunction with Group Purchasing Manager develop and manage supplier agreements and compliance to standards / expectations.
·Manage reports as required by Group Purchasing Manager regarding purchasing, supplier and cost saving performance, stock value
·As required raising Purchase Orders of standard and non-stock items, utilising ERP.

PROFESSIONAL/VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS OR SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar sourcing role.
- Knowledge of export procedures and experience of the shipping / forwarding industry
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to review, compare, contrast and critique golden to first article samples.
- Supplier liaison experience.
- PC literate – Microsoft Office.

No Smoking Policy
All company offices are smoke free environments. All main entrances to the buildings are also smoke free areas. Staff should only smoke in the designated area and use containers supplied for extinguishing cigarettes. This includes the use of e-cigarettes. Staff who fail to comply with the policy will be subject to disciplinary action.
