key responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior O2C Specialist to join our client’s finance team in Porto. In this role, you will manage and oversee the end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and timely collections. You will act as a key player in optimizing working capital and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform the full cycle, including order management, billing, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.
- Prepare and review AR aging reports, drive collection strategies, and focus on reducing DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
- Manage relationships with customers and internal stakeholders; resolve escalated disputes and negotiate payment terms.
- Ensure strict adherence to Audit/SOX/internal controls, accounting standards (IFRS), and tax regulations.
- Drive process automation, standardization, and efficiency initiatives to support business growth.
- Support month-end and quarter-end closing, reconciliations, and reporting to senior management.
- Train and mentor junior O2C specialists to foster a high-performing team.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Logistics, Treasury, and Tax departments.

Who You Are:
- Native or C2 level in Dutch or German; High proficiency in English (C1).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum of 6 months in Accounts Receivable / O2C (2–5 years of experience is highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (V-lookups, Pivot Tables).
- Familiarity with ERPs (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) is a significant plus.
- Analytical mindset, customer service orientation, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
