- Perform thorough customer due diligence (CDD) and account documentation checks for client onboarding and periodic reviews.
- Provide expert advice and operational guidance to business desks regarding regulatory KYC requirements, liaising with the AML Officer (AMLO) when specialized guidance is required.
- Monitor, track, and control escalated KYC issues, ensuring timely reporting and escalation to Senior Management and the AMLO.
- Review and analyze KYC sanctions and AML screening results to identify genuine risk hits, escalating findings to relevant internal parties for further investigation.
- Stay up to date with evolving regulatory changes, HKMA guidelines, and industry best practices in AML and KYC compliance.
- Assist the Team Head in formulating, implementing, and reviewing internal policies and procedures related to KYC regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with local and regional compliance teams (including CDHK) to establish robust AML/CFT procedures and optimize operational efficiency.
- Contribute to system enhancement projects, including testing and implementation of upgraded KYC, sanction, and AML screening tools.
skills & experiences required.
- University degree or professional qualification in Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of banking experience specifically handling customer account documentation, CDD, and KYC reviews.
- Deep understanding of HKMA regulatory requirements, AML/CFT regulations, and industry standard practices.
- Professional certification in AML/CFT (e.g., CAMS, ECF-AML) is highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of AML screening systems and client onboarding workflows.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage.
- Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
