We are seeking a Senior Payroll Systems Analyst to lead the integration and implementation of a new Time & Attendance system.
Responsibilities
- Requirements & Interpretation: Lead workshops to gather requirements, specifically focusing on the interpretation of complex Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and National Payroll compliance.
- Process Architecture: Map "As-Is" vs. "To-Be" processes, creating robust user stories and acceptance criteria that eliminate manual intervention.
- Integration & Data Engineering: Oversee the data flow between HRIS, Time & Attendance and Finance/ERP systems.
- The "Accountant’s Lens": Utilise your accounting background to perform deep-dive data validation, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) practices, and parallel run reconciliations to ensure 100% pay accuracy.
- Test Leadership: Design and execute SIT/UAT strategies, including customised test scripts for complex pay rules, public holiday behaviours, and accruals.
- Vendor Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for software vendors and internal cross-functional stakeholders (HR, IT, and Finance).
Experience/Skillset
- Hybrid Expert: You have 10+ years of experience across Business Analysis, Payroll Consulting, and Accounting. You don't just find bugs; you understand the financial impact of a misconfigured pay rule.
- WFM Specialist: Extensive experience with Tier-1/2 systems.
- Testing Rigor: Proven ability to design comprehensive test scenarios and automated data comparison workbooks (ETL) to validate system behaviour against complex EBA/Award logic during SIT, UAT, and Parallel Runs.
- Data Savvy: Advanced Excel skills are a given, but you also understand data mapping, system interfaces, and how to use automation to mitigate business risk.
- EBA Translator: You have a proven track record of reading a legal document (Award/Agreement) and knowing exactly how that needs to be coded into a system's logic.
- Education: A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/E-Commerce) or a similar Finance heavy qualification is highly regarded.
