About your new role
The Senior Policy & Economic Analyst will serve as a vital link between complex financial analysis and strategic policy decisions for programs. You will be responsible for evaluating the economic impacts of program design updates, including fee structures, operating models, and industrial scenarios, to ensure all decisions remain within the approved funding envelope. Working closely with a financial modeller, you will refine key assumptions, document budget variances, and identify potential risks or new revenue streams like Commonwealth Worker Retention Payments.
What you will need to exceed
... - Experience working alongside financial modellers to assess and refine assumptions using best practice and existing data.
- Proficiency in analysing industrial scenarios, including variations to wages or staffing models.
- You need strong quantitative skills to support economic and financial analysis for decision-makers
- Ability to model the impacts of various policy levers, such as fee structures, revenue assumptions, and operating model parameters
- High-level documentation skills to ensure all policy changes and assumption updates are clearly recorded for audit and approval purposes
- Experience briefing senior governance forums, such as Program Control Groups, Implementation Committees, or Boards
Must Haves
- Experience with business case updates and the ERC (Expenditure Review Committee) process is essential for this role.
