Senior Developer (API) - Auckland
The Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior API Developer to join a high-impact project in Auckland. You will take complete ownership of the end-to-end design and delivery of a GraphQL API built from the ground up. This is a 6-month initial contract with a strong likelihood of extension for a developer who excels in backend strategy and data orchestration.
Role Details:
- Term: 6-Month Initial Contract (High extension potential)
- Working Model: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days WFH)
- Start Date: ASAP Start
- Focus: Developing a GraphQL API: Design, Development, and Deployment.
About the Role
... - Design & Build: Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of a brand-new GraphQL API.
- Backend Strategy: Define and lead the strategy for building highly scalable, robust backends.
- Orchestration: Implement modern data orchestration workflows to support enterprise-level performance.
- Collaboration: Work within a modern office environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align API delivery with business goals.
Skills & Experience Required
- API Mastery: Proven experience designing and delivering GraphQL APIs from scratch.
- Scalable Backends: Deep expertise in architecting and maintaining scalable backend systems.
- Data Orchestration: Strong understanding of modern data orchestration tools and methodologies.
- Technical Leadership: Ability to drive technical strategy and lead best practices for API development.
- Delivery Focused: A track record of meeting delivery milestones in fast-paced contract environments.
