In this role as **Service Dispatcher** in **Montreal**, you will be the operational heart of the branch. Responsibilities
* Handle customer calls and carefully open and close work orders.
* Plan, optimize, and schedule the work of a dozen refrigeration technicians to maximize route efficiency and minimize travel time.
* Collaborate continuously with managers in the commercial and industrial divisions to ensure the smooth operation of maintenance and repair services.
* Manage emergency calls (priorities 0 through 4) by accurately assessing the time required for each service call.
* Analyze and update operational records using the MB logistics platform and mapping tools.
* Handle the administration of hazardous materials transport forms and coordinate the issuance of certification cards (propane, technical training) with suppliers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* Solid, proven experience in service dispatch in a related field (refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, or building mechanics).
* Excellent ability to manage priorities, high stress tolerance, and the ability to remain calm during seasonal peak periods.
* Strong logical thinking skills for the geographic optimization of service routes.
* Strong proficiency with computer-based dispatch and geolocation tools.
* Training in building mechanics (DEP or DEC) or knowledge of technical terminology (standards, types of gases) is a significant asset.
Justification for the Language Requirement:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Due to the company’s significant business expansion and diversification of its market share, the incumbent is expected to interact daily—both verbally and in writing—with a growing English-speaking clientele located outside the immediate region or from Canada-wide companies. French alone is not sufficient to meet the service requirements of this specific clientele.
