Job Purpose
The purpose of the Team Lead – Stores (EOU) role is to ensure efficient, compliant, and accurate management of all store operations within an Export Oriented Unit. This position is responsible for maintaining full EOU compliance in inventory control, documentation, and material movement while ensuring seamless coordination with production, logistics, quality, and customs authorities. The role ensures timely availability of materials, adherence to statutory requirements, and smooth handling of high‑volume raw materials, contributing to operational excellence and regulatory integrity of the organization.
- EOU Compliance & Inventory Governance
- Ensure full compliance with EOU (Export Oriented Unit) requirements related to stock management, inventory identification, traceability, and ledger maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date inventory ledgers, documentation, and traceability records as per EOU norms.
- Manage outsourcing processes and inhouse job work activities in alignment with EOU regulatory requirements.
- Possess strong knowledge of customs compliance, statutory requirements, documentation, and procedures for customs clearance.
- Deep understanding of government-related non‑compliance practices, audit requirements, and record‑keeping protocols.
- Outsourcing, Material Movement & Customs Coordination
- Plan and monitor outsourcing activities related to EOU (Export Oriented Unit) /SEZ (special economic zone) and DTA (Domestic Tariff Area) movement.
- In‑depth knowledge of material movement processes, documentation flows, excise/customs compliance, and clearance formalities.
- Ensure accurate reporting of outsourcing jobs, material transfers, and consumption statements
- Ensure clear documenting and reporting of internal job work activities, material transfer & accounting.
- Inventory Control, Audits & Documentation
- Strong expertise in inventory control, stock accuracy, and documentation management.
- Conduct and supervise periodic stock counting, cycle counts, and full physical inventory audits.
- Ensure proper reconciliation procedures and highlight variances with corrective actions.
- Leadership & Managerial Competencies
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise/manage and guide store personnel.
- Strong skills in supervision, team management, and coordination with cross‑functional departments (logistics, production, quality, finance).
- Ability to implement process improvements and maintain high standards of inventory & operational management
- Safety, Risk Management & Compliance
- Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessment practices related to inventory management and logistics.
- Ensure adherence to internal and external safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
- Implement best practices in 5’s Just In Time (JIT), material handling, and hazard prevention
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards, including applicable audit requirements and related documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7 to 8 years of experience in store management, inventory control, or logistics operations in reputed manufacturing company.
- Extensive hands‑on experience in a similar EOU or export-oriented industry.
- Exposure to manufacturing and heavy fabrication environments, including handling large volumes of raw materials (1000+ tons per year).
- Familiarity with import and export procedures, packing standards, and quality operations within store & logistics functions
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and contract management skills.
- ERP proficiency
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
Preferred Attributes
- Expertise in inventory control techniques such as FIFO, LIFO, ABC analysis, cycle counting & reconciliation.
- Good understanding of import/export procedures, packing standards, and customs clearance workflows.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment (MHE), storage systems, and safe handling of heavy raw materials
- Experience in ISO-certified environments with procurement documentation.
- Exposure to supplier development and cost optimization projects.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
