Position Overview:
Reporting to the General Manager, this position is a key role in developing then executing our strategies with
responsibility for sourcing components in India. The sourcing focus in on our telehandler and aerial work platform
products. We want you to utilize our global leverage to regionally achieve the best value in cost, quality, reliability,
service, and support. This role will co-ordinate cross functional relationships, including product development/
engineering, materials management, local purchasing, operations, finance and aftermarket.
Responsibilities:
The Supplier Quality Engineer, Integrals, shall:
Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams and activities focused on purchased component risk reduction
within the AWP supply chain. Must be willing to communicate and collaborate inside and outside of
the organization daily.
Develop the supply chain: create and execute custom-tailored quality improvement plans based on
supplier performance data and the maturity of their quality management systems. Including full project
management of all quality improvement related activities for newly selected or struggling suppliers.
Accurately assess supplier capabilities to ensure compliance to company drawings and specifications will be
met reliably in production.
Manage supplier readiness to execute the company Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Perform detailed drawing reviews for accuracy and design-for-manufacturability risks; initiate and
recommend engineering changes, as necessary.
Conduct on-site manufacturing technical assessments and quality system assessments at domestic and
international supplier locations.
Coach suppliers using effective problem-solving techniques (8D, 5 Why’s, fishbone) to ensure root
causes are accurately identified and effective preventive measures are implemented.
Travel up to 50% (domestic and international) to perform supplier site assessments,Level3/ level 5
PPAPs, and problem-solving workshops.
Qualify Suppliers to the company code through surveys, assessments, sample creation, and destructive
testing.Qualifications / Skill/ Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering from an accredited college/university.
5+ years of proven industry experience in Electrical (AC/DC motors, batteries, chargers, harness/cable
assemblies, sensors, and others), Electronics (motor controllers, electronic modules and others), and
Hydraulic category components (cylinders, manifolds and others).
Demonstrated experience solving problems by correctly identifying root cause and implementing
sustainable and effective countermeasures.
Keen eye for identifying process improvement opportunities.
Experience with ISO9001, TS16949, or similar quality management systems and auditing practices.
Proficient in GD&T; able to read and interpret 2D technical drawings and 3D models
Knowledge of lean manufacturing waste reduction methods such as: Kanban, jidoka, poka-yoke,
heijunka, kaizen.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and related tools such as: DFMEA, PFMEA,
control plans, PPAP.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in both English and Spanish.
Demonstrated team player and collaborator.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
A proven passion for product safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Travel:
Must be willing and able to travel locally and globally (up to 50% at Normal Times; Could Increase during
periods of challenging Business environments like Filed Failures, Line Stops. Stop Ship Scenarios).
