What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you’ll be the brains and the muscle behind North Sydney’s tree management strategy:
- Health & Risk Assessments: Conducting comprehensive tree hazard assessments, managing tree health, and running replacement programs.
- Community & Stakeholder Relations: Being the professional face of Council—handling customer inquiries, requests, and community complaints with a helpful, innovative attitude.
- Report Writing & Tech: Putting your computer literacy to work by writing clear reports on tree health, risk management, and site assessments.
- Policy & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all operations strictly align with Council policies, WHS regulations, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines with minimal supervision.
- Field Operations: Oversees tree maintenance, pest management, and removal practices while maintaining a safe, efficient site.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture at AQF Level 5.
- Proven experience in tree risk management, hazard assessments, pest control, and professional report writing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication. You can chat just as easily with a concerned resident as you can write a formal report for internal stakeholders.
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence and a WHS White Card are essential.
- You are innovative, driven to improve Council processes, and comfortable working autonomously.
The Extras (Highly Regarded!):
- TRAQ or QTRA tree risk assessment qualifications.
- Experience in contract management.
- An MR Licence, ChemCert, or First Aid Certificate.
- Council experience is preferred, but definitely not a dealbreaker!
