An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Planner to join a major next-generation network operations portfolio on an initial 6-month contract. This role supports a flagship programme focused on replacing an existing Energy Management System with an Advanced Energy Management System. This transformation represents a generational leap towards a modern capability utilising best-practice technologies, processes, and skills to drive portfolio efficiencies and performance. In this role, you will ensure a consolidated, accurate, and current view of resource allocation across multiple programmes and projects.
What You Will Do:Manage portfolio-level resource capacity, demand, and utilisation views to identify unallocated, under-utilised, and over-utilised resources.
Develop forward-looking resource demand forecasts that anticipate emerging, new, or changed requirements to inform planning and sequencing decisions.
Prepare and facilitate cross-stakeholder resource allocation forums, providing clear information on capacity, gaps, constraints, and options.
Maintain a transparent record of resource-related decisions, actions, and escalations to ensure appropriate governance, traceability, and assurance.
Forecast and coordinate out-of-hours resource requirements aligned to project phases and management expectations.
Demonstrated significant experience in planning, scheduling, and reporting within a large transformational change initiative.
Demonstrated experience eliciting information from various business representatives and subject matter experts to inform and build schedules.
Proven analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships in a team environment.
Effective consultation, facilitation, written, and oral communication skills used to manage stakeholder groups and facilitate business change decision-making.
Expert proficiency in the Microsoft suite (especially MS Project, Excel, and Visio), alongside capability in tracking tools like PowerBI, SharePoint, Jira, or Confluence.
