 Key Responsibilities
Component Library Development:
Create, validate, and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D
models for electronic components using Altium Designer, ensuring 100%
accuracy and compliance with IPC standards.
Datasheet Interpretation & Verification:
Carefully review component datasheets, mechanical drawings, and vendor
...
documentation to extract precise dimensional, electrical, and functional data
required for footprint and symbol creation.
Component Sanitization & Standardization:
Perform regular sanitization of existing libraries to eliminate duplicates,
correct naming conventions, and standardize attributes such as pin
orientation, polarity marking, and designator logic.
Quality Control & Validation:
Conduct thorough design rule and dimension checks to ensure each library
element meets company standards and is ready for direct use by PCB design
teams without rework.
Version Control & Traceability:
Maintain complete version history, revision notes, and change
documentation for each component to ensure traceability and design
reproducibility across projects.
Library Maintenance & Auditing:
Schedule and perform periodic audits of the centralized component library to
remove obsolete or redundant parts, identify outdated packages, and maintain
alignment with current BOM and AVL (Approved Vendor List).
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with hardware design, mechanical, sourcing, and
manufacturing teams to validate component selections, ensure compatibility
with approved vendor parts, and support seamless integration into the
design workflow. Documentation & Process Compliance:
Maintain detailed records of component creation, review logs, datasheet
references, and change control approvals in compliance with internal quality
procedures and design documentation standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement library process improvements, automation scripts,
or template optimizations to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of
the library management system.
 Required Skills
Proficiency in Altium Designer – Library Tools.
Strong knowledge of IPC standards, component geometry, and datasheet
interpretation.
Good understanding of library structure, version control, and data
management practices.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
