As a Senior Embedded Software Systems Engineer, you will closely collaborate with Electronic Engineers, Embedded Systems Engineers and Robotics Software Engineers to push the boundaries of mechatronics. In the role of a Senior Embedded Software Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will be elevated to encompass: Leading Collaboration: Spearheading close collaboration with teams of robotic software developers to support the development and integration of new features, services, and product releases. Advanced Robotic Systems Design: Utilizing expert skills in robotic systems design, embedded software development, and advanced engineering principles to innovate and develop sophisticated mobile robotic systems. Device Driver Development: Taking a lead role in creating and optimizing device drivers for a diverse range of sensors, actuators, memory units, and computational units, ensuring efficient and reliable system performance. Communication Pipeline Implementation: Designing and implementing complex intra- and inter-processor communication pipelines, particularly for devices constrained by memory and computational resources, to ensure seamless data flow and processing efficiency. Automation and Continuous Integration: Driving the development of sophisticated automation tools to enhance the continuous integration framework, improving development efficiency and software quality. As a Senior Engineer, your role will not only involve technical expertise but also leadership in project management and mentorship to junior team members, contributing significantly to the strategic direction of the team's projects. RequirementsMinimum qualifications Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field of study.Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded systems product development, with a proven record in leading projects and supporting operations in a senior capacity. Advanced Programming Proficiency: Expertise in C and C++ programming for embedded systems. Microcontroller Expertise: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with a variety of microcontrollers (MCUs) and microprocessor technology, including the latest processors. Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS): Advanced knowledge of and experience with RTOS in embedded systems. Device Driver Development: Proficiency in developing and optimizing device drivers, particularly for Linux-based systems. Linux Operating System: Extensive experience with the Linux operating system, including system-level programming and administration. Communication Protocols and Interface Buses: Mastery of communication protocols and interface buses like I2C, SPI, CAN bus, RS232 and RS485. SoC-Level Optimization Skills: Demonstrated ability in software optimizations at the System on a Chip (SoC) level. Design Patterns: Deep understanding of design patterns, specifically in the context of embedded system design. Debugging and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional debugging skills with the ability to work effectively with existing codebases and implement interrupt-driven designs. Hardware Testing Expertise: Proficiency with hardware test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
