The Opportunity
Our client is a leading NSW State Government agency dedicated to culture, science, and community education. We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst for a 10-month parental leave cover.
This is a standalone position that acts as a vital bridge between the Finance and People & Culture (P&C) teams. You will be responsible for the integrity of financial reporting and the analytical framework behind workforce planning.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead the collection and delivery of P&L, Opex, and Capex data. You will ensure financial integrity across annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Partner with HR/P&C to ensure salary data and headcount modeling are accurately integrated into budgeting tools.
- Use Advanced Excel and Power Query to connect various data sources, cleaning and transforming raw data into repeatable, automated reports.
- Map and process transactions across multiple systems, identifying discrepancies and implementing controls to ensure "one source of truth."
Essential Requirements:
- Advanced Excel & Power Query: High proficiency in Power Query is a must. You should be comfortable linking disparate data and automating workflows.
- Financial Experience: Practical experience with Financial Data Integrity, specifically regarding P&L and Capex/Opex reporting.
- Attention to Detail: A rigorous approach to mapping and coding transactions to ensure 100% accuracy.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in Workforce Planning or HR data analysis.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or Calumo (Training will be provided, so these are not mandatory).
