Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide strategic insight on assurance processes and drive the development of essential methodologies. Your duties will include:

• Framework Leadership: Leading the development of the assurance framework, including principles, policies, and guidance materials.
• Authoritative Advice: Providing expert guidance on assurance approaches, maturity, and the effectiveness of controls.
• Process Improvement: Strengthening grants management processes at the award activity level and identifying gaps or trends through complex data analysis.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including auditors and governance committees to embed consistent practices.

• Reporting: Preparing high-quality briefing materials and reports regarding assurance outcomes and risks.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Framework Experience: Demonstrated experience developing and implementing assurance, governance, or risk management frameworks within Commonwealth agencies.
• Legislative Expertise: Strong awareness of the PGPA Act, Commonwealth Grant Rules and Principles, and general APS governance requirements.
• Analytical Ability: Proven capacity to interpret complex information and form sound judgements on control effectiveness.
• Communication: Exceptional writing skills to produce persuasive assurance documents and the ability to influence stakeholders.

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to design practical and scalable assurance tools that deliver impactful outcomes.
