The role: EL1 Program Manager
Location: Richmond, VIC (3121), & Geelong, VIC
Start Date: End of December 2026
Contract Length: of 6 months with the possibility of extension
Pay: $70/hr - $80/hr + Super

... Role Overview:
Responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent the client to advance the client's interests across a range of forums. Provide leadership, planning, resource management, people management and decision making for the team membership and assigned contractors working within the work area. Applies judgement to manage highly complex and sensitive issues in a timely manner and to a high standard.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee and analyse project outputs, aims and objectives
- Coordinate the use of specialist project service providers, including contractors and consultants
- Maintain expert knowledge in relevant areas and provide advice and technical expertise to guide project and program activities
- Coordinate strategic planning for longer-term project initiatives and program management
- Manage, deliver and monitor projects that may have an agency wide impact
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management activities for a project or program
- Applying sound judgement and decision-making to evaluate risks in the context of a complex and changing environment.
- Contributing to branch leadership, building a positive and high performing team culture.

Knowledge required for the position:
- Knowledge of and experience in strategic policy and implementation
- Experience leading teams within the public sector to deliver reform policy, projects, programs
- Experience with legislation
- Experience with strategic commissioning
- Knowledge of the disability sector
- Understanding of Commonwealth procurement rules
Qualifications and/or Experience:
A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
