1. Procurement & Demand Execution
- Plan and release Purchase Orders (POs) and delivery schedules to suppliers based on MRP runs and CBT/electronic Kanban (EKAN) triggers.
- Prioritize and expedite materials across demand classifications: Emergency Purchase Orders (EPO), Vehicle Off Road (VOR), Initial Batch (IB), and regular service fill-rate requirements.
- Revisit, maintain, and update Material Master parameters (lead times, safety stocks, lot sizes, reorder points, and procurement types) in the ERP system (e.g., SAP/QAD) to guarantee planning accuracy.
2. Supplier Expediting & Relationship Management
- Conduct rigorous daily/weekly follow-ups with suppliers; conduct on-site supplier visits to audit capacity, inspect work-in-progress, and unblock bottlenecks during critical supply pinches.
- Track, evaluate, and publish Supplier On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance metrics.
- Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) for supply failures, review recovery schedules, and ensure closure of corrective/preventive action plans.
3. Inter-Departmental Coordination & Engineering Changes
- Interface with Aftermarket Parts, Service Engineering, Quality (QAD), and Central Procurement (CP) to execute Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Requests (ECR).
- Manage phase-in / phase-out (PIPO) of parts to prevent both stock-outs and obsolete inventory.
- Liaise with manufacturing plant logistics and warehouse teams to execute inter-plant transfers (stock transfer orders) for VOR emergencies, premium-priced components, or unallocated service spares.
4. Commercial & Logistics Alignment
- Partner with Central Procurement and Finance to clear administrative and commercial bottlenecks, including Split of Business (SOB) allocations, open PO revisions, price variances, and payment holds.
- Coordinate inbound transportation, vehicle planning, milk-run routes, and the turnaround cycle of returnable packaging/totes between suppliers and plants.
5. Inventory Governance & Operational Excellence
- Maintain inventory levels strictly within target Days of Inventory (DOI) and min-max norms to minimize working capital exposure without compromising fill rates.
- Implement and monitor Daily Work Management (DWM) practices, daily tier boards, and visual tracking metrics.
- Lead and support Kaizen, value engineering, productivity enhancement, and logistics cost-reduction projects across the aftermarket supply chain.
