Finance Director – Japan■ Company OverviewOur client is an international digital platform and entertainment technology provider that delivers enterprise ticketing and fan experience solutions for premier venues, professional sports teams, and live events across North America, Europe, and Asia. Backed by a major global sports and entertainment group headquartered in the United States, the business connects millions of live-event attendees with world-class entertainment annually. ■ The OpportunityThis appointment represents the senior-most finance leadership role for the company’s corporate and operational entity in Japan, acting as the strategic right hand to the Japan Managing Director. The Finance Director will oversee end-to-end fiscal governance. The position combines fiduciary oversight, high-volume client settlement controls, and statutory compliance with commercial decision support, positioning the incoming leader at the heart of the business's ongoing market expansion.■ Key Responsibilities・Take overall accountability for local corporate accounting, cash flow operations, statutory reporting, payroll, and financial governance across the Japan entity.・Partner closely with the Japan Managing Director to provide actionable commercial insight, financial modeling, and strategic input regarding regional growth initiatives.・Lead the annual budgeting cycle and monthly re-forecasting exercises, collaborating with operational departments to track expenditure and uphold financial discipline.・Manage corporate treasury operations, maintaining strict governance over working capital, liquidity forecasts, banking relationships, and client settlement funds.・Ensure full compliance with local regulatory obligations, including Corporation Tax, Consumption Tax, statutory filings, and annual audit processes alongside external advisors.・Align local accounting policies and operational controls with the regional APAC finance leadership and global corporate standards.・Evaluate and strengthen internal financial systems, payment processes, accounts payable/receivable workflows, and anti-fraud mechanisms to ensure scalable operations.・Direct and mentor a small local finance team, balancing high-level strategic advisory with active, roll-up-your-sleeves execution when required.■ What the Role Offers・Direct strategic influence over the domestic scaling of an international entertainment technology brand.・High-level stakeholder visibility through close collaboration with the country Managing Director and regional APAC finance leadership.・A collaborative, mission-driven corporate setting focused on modernizing live entertainment experiences worldwide.・Comprehensive professional development support, including financial assistance and reimbursement for external training and education.

■ Required Experience and Skills
・Demonstrated track record of financial leadership, with proven capability in managing and developing direct reports.
・Proven ability to operate flexibly across both strategic planning and detailed, hands-on operational accounting tasks.
・Extensive background managing corporate cash flows, multi-currency exposure, and complex multi-regional financial operations.
・Experience establishing trusted advisory relationships with senior management within an agile, fast-paced environment.
・High analytical capability accompanied by advanced financial modeling and Microsoft Excel skills.
・Fluent-level Japanese language ability paired with conversational business English for international stakeholder coordination.
・Willingness to undertake domestic and international business travel as required by commercial priorities.
■ Preferred Qualifications
・Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA (Japan or US), ACA, CIMA, or equivalent certification.
・Experience operating within high-growth small-to-medium enterprise (SME) or subsidiary environments.
・Practical experience utilizing enterprise resource planning systems.
