About the job: Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Life cycle Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of legal documents, including term sheets, Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPA), tenancy agreements, and joint venture/shareholder contracts.
- Legal Advisory & Compliance: Act as a subject matter expert by providing management with updates on property laws, regulatory shifts, and statutory governance requirements.
- External Liaison: Manage relationships with external counsel to oversee conveyancing processes, resolve legal disputes, and handle ongoing litigation.
- Strategic Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal hurdles across various projects and propose actionable solutions to protect the company’s commercial interests.
- Corporate Secretarial Support: Assist in the preparation of board resolutions and other essential corporate documentation to ensure administrative compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Project teams to provide seamless legal integration into daily business operations.
About the requirements:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or an equivalent professional legal qualification
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the real estate or property development sectors.
- Specialised Expertise: A robust background in conveyancing is essential. Additional experience in corporate law or litigation is highly desirable.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Companies Act, housing development regulations, and general property law.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional drafting skills combined with a sharp analytical mind and a high degree of precision in your work.
- Language: English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin (reading and writing).
