about the job
- Regulatory & Compliance Management: Partner with the corporate Headquarters's Legal Division and the APAC Regional Legal team to manage regional regulatory affairs. This includes handling telecommunications license applications, renewals, official filings, regulatory inquiries, and other localised compliance matters.
- Cross-Border Advisory: Provide practical, commercially focused legal solutions to internal stakeholders and advise business units on various cross-border commercial transactions.
- Contract Life cycle Support: Take full ownership of day-to-day legal affairs and contract management, including drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and routing commercial agreements and approvals.
- Legal Risk & Research: Conduct targeted legal research on complex matters as required. Regularly monitor, analyse, and report on emerging changes in local laws and statutory regulations across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
- Internal Training & Awareness: Prepare legal write-ups and deliver internal training sessions to business units to raise legal awareness and ensure robust policy compliance across day-to-day business operations.
- External Counsel Liaison: Act as the primary interface with external legal counsels and assist the regional management team in handling ad-hoc corporate projects.
about the requirements
- Years of experience: 5-7 PQE
- Education: Bachelor of Law (LLB) AND Called to the Bar
- Preferably the candidate must come from TMT sectors (Technology, Media, Telco).
- Deep familiarity with drafting, reviewing, and managing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) contracts and System Integration (SI) project documentation is required.
- Experience handling cross-border commercial transactions or managing regulatory affairs across multiple countries is an advantage.
- Mandarin Fluency (Read & Write): The candidate must be completely proficient in reading and writing Mandarin to coordinate with Corporate Headquarters and process cross-border regional paperwork.

Team Composition & Distribution: You will be joining a lean, highly specialised APAC legal framework. The regional team currently consists of two dedicated legal counterparts stationed across the region.
Management & Reporting Line: This position reports directly to the Regional Head, who is based out of the Singapore office.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Beyond direct regional management, the role involves extensive day-to-day collaboration across local borders, working closely alongside localised Legal Counsel and the corporate HQ Legal Team to support cross-border commercial transactions and ensure regional policy compliance.
