Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
Lead the end-to-end fabrication process, including cutting (Laser/Plasma), bending, fit-up, and welding.
Translate the Monthly Production Plan into daily shift targets to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
Optimize machine utilization for high-tonnage hydraulic presses and CNC machines.
2. Technical Supervision & Quality
Interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint specifications.
Oversee welding operations (MIG/TIG/SAW) ensuring compliance with standards such as ASME or ISO 3834.
Collaborate with the Quality department to minimize rework and scrap through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
3. Team Leadership & Shop Floor Management
Manage a team of 30+ technicians, welders, and fitters.
Identify skill gaps and conduct training on fabrication best practices and safety.
Enforce 5S methodologies and Lean Manufacturing principles to maintain a world-class workspace.
4. Maintenance & Safety
Coordinate with the Maintenance team for Preventive Maintenance (PM) of heavy machinery.
Ensure strict adherence to PPE protocols and heavy-lifting safety (EOT cranes, material handling).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: B.E. / B.Tech
Experience: 5–8 years in Heavy Fabrication, specifically dealing with large-scale sheet metal components (e.g., Yellow Goods, Pressure Vessels, or Industrial Chassis).
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in welding symbols and metallurgy.
Hands-on experience with CNC Laser/Plasma cutting and heavy-duty Press Brakes.
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) for production tracking.
