■ The OpportunityThis role oversees the strategy, development, and commercialization of advanced packaging solutions across major consumer categories in Japan. Operating at the intersection of engineering, you will lead end-to-end packaging projects that optimize cost, enhance consumer experience, and advance circular economy commitments.■ Employment Details・Employment type: Permanent / Full-Time・General work location: Tokyo, Japan・Working style: On-site・Annual Income: 10M to 14M JPY■ Key Responsibilities・Formulate and execute comprehensive packaging strategies for beverage, dairy, and plant-based product lines in Japan.・Lead end-to-end packaging innovation and renovation projects from concept definition through design, testing, and commercial production.・Drive corporate packaging sustainability targets through eco-friendly design, recyclability, material reduction, and sustainable sourcing.・Identify and implement cost-optimization initiatives across packaging formats without compromising product quality or user experience.・Manage structural designs, technical specifications, drawing databases, and material testing protocols.・Lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for packaging-related issues during factory trials and commercial rollouts.・Collaborate with cross-functional partners in marketing, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory affairs.・Serve as a primary regional expert, aligning local initiatives with global packaging centers of excellence and external industry networks.・Coach, mentor, and build technical capabilities within the local R&I team

求められる経験
■ Required Experience and Skills
・Extensive packaging development experience within the FMCG or consumer packaged goods industry.
・Deep technical expertise in rigid and flexible packaging technologies, including thermoforming, molding, and laminate films.
・Strong knowledge of primary materials (polymers, paperboard, glass, metals) and their physical/chemical interactions with food products.
・Proven experience managing technical stage-gate processes, design for manufacturing (DFM), prototyping, and packaging test standards.
・In-depth understanding of circular economy principles, packaging recyclability, and Japanese regulatory standards.

■ Preferred Qualifications
・Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing project budgets within a global matrix organization.
・Proven track record of tracking emerging packaging technologies and translating scientific advancements into commercial pipelines.
・Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for commercial leadership.
