Job profile
We are seeking a highly motivated Power Electronics Hardware Design Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in defence and aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in power electronics, mixed-signal hardware, converter design, and aerospace-grade compliance standards. You will contribute to end to-end design of high-reliability power converters, control electronics, sensing circuits, and EMI/EMC-compliant hardware for mission-critical systems.
Job Role and Responsibilities
1. Power Electronics Design: Design and development of DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, inverters, rectifiers, and power modules. It includes circuit design & simulations.
2. Modelling, Simulation & Analysis: Perform converter modelling and simulation using Cadence Allegro and OrCAD, pSpice, Altium, LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, PSIM or similar tools. It also includes SI/PI analysis, Conduct power estimation, thermal analysis, MTBF calculations, EMI/EMC prediction and mitigation.
3. Hardware Development & Testing: Prototype bring-up, bench validation, design verification, pre compliance, and qualification testing debugging of high-voltage hardware using DMMs, oscilloscopes, data loggers, etc.
4. Documentation & Project Support: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), block diagrams, schematics, PCB documentation, test procedures, validation reports, Root cause Analysis (RCAs), and technical presentations. Also participate in proposals, technical reviews, and customer interactions.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory
• 1–3 years of experience in power electronics design (defence/aerospace preferred). • Strong knowledge of power electronics components and converter topologies.
• Strong knowledge of DC-DC converter topologies and simulation.
• Schematic design experience using, OrCAD, Altium (mandatory).
• Experience with serial communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, etc.).
• Ability to debug high-voltage circuits safely and systematically
Preferred
• Experience in power electronics design with rugged hardware for airborne/land/naval platforms. • Knowledge of EMI/EMC fundamentals and power supply development/testing.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-461E, MIL-STD-704E, MIL-STD-810G/H, DO-160, RCMA standards. • Exposure to aerospace constraints: thermal limits, shock/vibration, altitude, reliability.
