Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with product managers, owners, and technical leads to develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans.
Test Design & Execution: Lead and conduct various testing types, including automation, integration, unit, regression, functional, non-functional, and accessibility testing (AODA).
Environment & Data Management: Plan and create test data for all phases; organize testing efforts for both front-end (UI) and back-end application components.
Automation & Tooling: Set up test plans, suites, and cases in Azure DevOps; continuously integrate automated test scripts to support CI/CD goals.
Defect Lifecycle Management: Record and manage defects in Azure DevOps, ensuring detailed descriptions, reproduction steps, and screenshots are captured for swift resolution.
Reporting & Collaboration: Regularly communicate test results through reports and stand-ups; define and measure acceptance criteria; conduct design and test case walkthroughs.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for UAT activities and stakeholder reviews, ensuring testing outcomes align with business requirements.
Knowledge Transfer: Schedule and conduct dedicated sessions to transfer design and development artifacts to team members, ensuring operational continuity.
Qualifications
Testing Expertise: 3+ years of deep, hands-on experience executing functional, non-functional (load, performance, security), and automation testing.
Automation Proficiency: Extensive experience using automated testing scripts and tools (e.g., Selenium or equivalent).
DevOps & Tracking: 3+ years of experience managing test plans and cases in Azure DevOps, including hands-on experience with Kanban Board management.
Accessibility Standards: Strong hands-on experience with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WCAG standards.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with SharePoint, .NET Web, JavaScript, Python, and RStudio, as well as data visualization and geospatial tools.
Strategic Ability: Proven track record of developing traceability matrices to ensure alignment between business requirements and testing outcomes.
Communication: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to convey complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Public Sector Context: Experience working in the public sector or enterprise-level environments is highly desirable.
