Technical Skills
● Ability to build strong relationships with clients, underwriters and internal teammates.● Comprehensive knowledge of personal lines insurance products, applications,
coverages, and limits; relative to insurance carrier appetite.
● Ability to identify gaps in coverages.
● Proficiency with Applied Rating Services quoting system.
● Experience with broker management systems (BMS) - Vertafore SIG preferred.
● Proficiency with insurance company portals for policy uploads.
● Financial and accounting literacy.
● Knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
Key Result Areas /Essential Functions Responsibilities
● Assisting sales and service teams in managing policy life cycles for new and existing
clients, including new business submissions, renewals, re-marketing and
endorsements.
● Processing insurance-related reports and contracts such as property valuations,
driving record history, and premium financing agreements.
● Assisting sales teams in the completion of home and auto insurance quoting.
● Reviewing quotations, subjectivities, and policies for accuracy.
● Administering internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and underwriting
guidelines.
● Timely processing of uploads to insurance company portals: new business,
endorsements and cancellations.
● Working effectively with team members and colleagues to accomplish team and
organizational goals.
● Taking actions that respect the needs and contributions of others.
Qualifications / Experience
● Minimum 5 years of personal lines insurance experience.
● CIP, CAIB and CRM designations and/or relative courses are considered an asset.
● Commercial lines experience is considered an asset.
● Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
