- Advises on complex legal and compliance issues, the interpretation of legislation and negotiation of (commercial) agreements considering multiple disciplines, proposing legal solutions to enable the organization to achieve its (commercial) objectives and manage legal risk in compliance with applicable laws
- Leads changes stemming from evolving industry legislation, regulations and the enforcement landscape that impact how to address legal risks and protect the organization's integrity and reputation
- Defines processes and procedures for (commercial) contracts and recommends and leads the implementation of best practices that may extend beyond the own area
- Anticipates impact of evolving industry legislation, regulations and the enforcement landscape on addressing legal risks and protecting the organization's integrity and reputation
- Leads the drafting, negotiation, and amending of a range of legal contracts including, supply of services agreements, consultancy agreements, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), license agreements, confidentiality agreements and more
- Mentors and coaches experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance
- Makes recommendations to senior management on the advisability of pursuing or defending a lawsuit based on legal analysis and risk assessment
- May provides expert technical advice in compliance, driving assessment of law and regulation requirements. Continuously evaluates and implements improvements to the organization's compliance programs. Oversees the investigation of reported compliance and integrity incidents.
