Senior Expert, Global Marketing Business Operations & PMO
Location: Remote / Hybrid – Central European Time Zone (CET). Working Conditions: This is a hybrid or remote role requiring full availability and alignment during Central European Time (CET) business hours to support our global matrix network. Eligible candidates should be based within easy traveling distance of a major European hub (such as Amsterdam) for periodic alignment sessions.
Role Summary
We are hiring a Senior Expert, Global Marketing Business Operations & PMO to act as the lead architect of our newly established "Engine Room". This strategic leadership role is dedicated to transforming Randstad's global marketing operations from a traditional "local-first" framework into a scalable, performance-obsessed, and AI-first automated workflow model across 39 international markets.
Important Note on Role Differentiation: This is an operational architecture, governance, and transformation role Your primary mandate is structuring workflows, driving AI-first business processes, and managing global-local program synchronization.
What You Will Achieve (Key Responsibilities)
- Lead the AI & Automation Transformation: Drive the evolution of business planning and PMO functions by aggressively integrating agentic AI into core workflows, reducing administrative overhead, and shifting manual processes to automated systems.
- Orchestrate the Rhythm of Business (RoB): Facilitate and govern quarterly and annual planning cycles to ensure complete alignment between global shared services (campaigns, performance marketing, content) and local market objectives.
- Direct Strategic PMO Governance: Provide absolute oversight, structure, and accountability for the centralized global marketing project portfolio and service catalog, eliminating "process drift" across complex initiatives like the Global Content Studio.
- Implement Business Operations Rigor: Govern the annual resource allocation and headcount models, baking expected AI-driven productivity gains directly into the financial plans.
- Formalize "The Randstad Way of Marketing": Establish and scale Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clear global-local operational handshakes and service delivery.
- Champion Change Management: Design and execute functional adoption programs that steer a cross-functional marketing culture of over 500+ marketers toward a highly accountable, revenue-contributing ecosystem.
What You Need to Succeed (Requirements & Capabilities)
- Proven Global Experience: 10+ years of professional experience managing Business Operations, Program Management, or Strategic Management within a fast-paced, global matrix environment.
- Transformation Track Record: Demonstrated capability in guiding large-scale operational changes, migrating businesses from fragmented local operations to globally scaled frameworks.
- Educational & Professional Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree in Business Administration is highly preferred. Certifications in Project/Program Management (Agile, LEAN) and Change Management are a significant advantage.
- Leading Without Authority: Expert-level capability to move fluidly between complex stakeholder landscapes (from local Marketing Directors to the Chief Growth Officer), turning complexity into clarity and driving consensus without formal reporting lines.
- AI Enthusiasm & Digital Mindset: A sharp, demonstrable curiosity regarding how emerging and agentic AI tools can elevate high-value marketing work and deliver tangible cost savings.
- Financial & Analytical Acumen: Strong capability to manage multi-million-dollar project portfolio finances, formulate ROI hypotheses, and track business cases against verifiable commercial revenue.
Key Relationships You Will Manage
- Upward: Partner directly with the Chief Growth Officer and the Global Marketing Leadership Team (GMLT) to provide scenario modeling and strategic planning insights.
- Outward: Harmonize the operational interfaces between Global Centers of Excellence (CoEs), the Marketing Global Capability Center (GCC), and local teams—including our specialized businesses like Randstad Digital and Randstad Enterprise.
- Cross-Functional: Serve as the central integrator collaborating with global HR, IT, and Finance teams to align roadmaps.
