Job Description: HR Manager – Operations
Location: Mumbai (On-site/Hybrid)
Reports to: Business Head
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive HR Operations Manager to lead our
day-to-day HR functions. You will be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle—from
onboarding to exit—ensuring that our HR processes are seamless, compliant with
Indian labor laws, and focused on improving the employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Lifecycle Management
Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end joining process, including documentation,
background verification (BGV), and induction.
Offboarding: Handle resignations, conduct exit interviews, and ensure smooth
full-and-final (F&F) settlements.
HRIS Management: Maintain and update the Employee Database (HRMS) with
100% accuracy.
2. Payroll & Benefits Administration
Coordinate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate monthly payroll
processing.
Manage attendance, leaves, and overtime records.
Oversee employee benefits, including Group Medical Insurance and ESIC/PF
contributions.
3. Statutory Compliance
Ensure the organization is 100% compliant with Maharashtra State labor laws.
Handle filings and documentation for Provident Fund (PF), ESIC, Professional
Tax (PT), and Labour Welfare Fund (LWF).
Maintain all statutory registers and prepare for periodic audits.
4. Policy & Process Improvement
Implement and update HR policies and Employee Handbooks.
Streamline operational workflows to reduce manual errors and improve
turnaround time (TAT).
5. Employee Relations & Engagement
Act as the first point of contact for employee queries regarding payroll, policies,
or grievances.
Organize monthly engagement activities and office events to build a positive
culture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or a related field.
Experience: 3–6 years in HR Operations (Experience in a Mumbai-based
startup or SME is a plus).
Software: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience
using HRMS tools (e.g., GreytHR, Keka, or Darwinbox).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian Labor Laws and payroll
compliance.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English; ability to communicate in
Hindi/Marathi is an advantage for local vendor/labor management.
