We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lead – Payroll & HR Operations to manage end-to-end payroll, HR operations, and statutory compliance. The role involves overseeing onboarding, employee records, payroll processing, and employee lifecycle activities, while driving process improvements, accuracy, and operational excellence. Strong hands-on experience with HRIS, Indian payroll laws, and taxation is essential, along with leadership skills to guide the HR operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end monthly payroll processing ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and statutory compliance.
- Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, reimbursements, and deductions.
- Ensure optimal salary structuring, accurate tax computation, and statutory calculations.
- Oversee timely generation and release of salary slips; manage payroll audits and reconciliations.
- Ensure full compliance with Indian statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS) and manage all periodic filings.
- Oversee income tax processes including TDS, Form 16 issuance, and tax assessments.
- Manage complete employee lifecycle operations including onboarding, exits, and Full & Final settlements.
- Oversee issuance of HR letters and ensure accurate maintenance of employee records.
- Manage HRIS and payroll systems, drive automation, process improvements, and data integrity.
- Generate payroll and HR MIS reports, support internal, statutory, and external audits.
- Lead and mentor HR operations teams; partner with business, finance, vendors, and authorities to deliver operational excellence.

Key Skills & Competencies:
- Extensive expertise in end-to-end payroll processing, advanced salary structuring, and large-scale payroll management.
- Strong command of Indian payroll regulations, income tax laws, TDS computations, and statutory compliances (PF, ESIC, PT, LWF).
- Proven experience in managing, optimizing, and automating HRIS/Payroll platforms such as GreytHR, Keka, Zoho People, SAP, or similar systems.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, payroll analytics, MIS reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
- High level of accuracy, data integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll and employee data.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities with the ability to prioritize workloads and manage complex HR operations independently.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and employee service orientation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- MBA or diploma in Human Resources, Payroll Management
- Professional certification in Payroll Management, HRMS/HRIS platforms, or Statutory Compliance will be an added advantage.
