Responsibilities
End-to-End Development: Design, document, develop, and unit test SAP development objects (RICEFW) adhering to best practices in S/4HANA and ECC.
Full SDLC Participation: Lead all phases of the development lifecycle, including initiation, requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation.
Technical Quality Assurance: Perform code and QA reviews for both internal teams and system integrators; configure ABAP Test Cockpit and Code Inspector to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Integration & API Management: Facilitate integration between SAP and divisional systems using IDocs, OData, REST, and SOAP web services.
Support & Remediation: Investigate and remediate defects during project testing cycles, escalating with SAP when necessary.
Operational Sustainability: Design procedures for error handling, monitoring, and Fiori application management to ensure objects are maintainable in a production environment.
Knowledge Leadership: Conduct formal knowledge transfer sessions, provide coaching/mentoring to developers, and document detailed technical specifications and run procedures.
Project Governance: Report status, highlight risks, and provide recommendations to ensure deliverables remain on time and on budget.
Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in ABAP Development (including ABAP Objects and 7.4/7.5 syntax) across the full RICEFW spectrum.
Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in Eclipse ADT, SAPGUI, Gateway Service Builder (SEGW), Core Data Services (CDS), and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
Fiori & Cloud Tools: Experience with Fiori application development, Business Application Studio (BAS), and Gitlab.
Integration Skills: Proficiency in IDocs, OData, and REST/SOAP APIs. Knowledge of SAP Cloud Integration (CI) iFlows and Application Interface Framework (AIF) is an asset.
Enhancements & Workflow: Extensive experience implementing BADI’s, Customer Exits, BTE’s, Enhancement Spots, SAP Workflow, and Adobe Forms.
Functional Knowledge: Demonstrated experience within SAP modules FI, CO, FM, GM, TRM, MM, and SD.
Tools & Methodologies: Experience with SAP Solution Manager, Jira, and HPQC within Agile and Waterfall environments.
Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field; SAP Development certification is preferred.
