Responsibilities
Database Architecture & Design: Create and maintain physical database designs, ensuring they meet scalability and performance requirements.
Administration & Optimization: Manage Oracle 12c/19c instances, focusing on installation, migration, and performance tuning within multi-tenant architectures.
High Availability & Recovery: Configure and administer Oracle 19c RAC (Grid Infrastructure/ASM) and Oracle DataGuard (Physical/Logical). Lead RMAN backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity.
Security & Compliance: Implement and manage data encryption using ASO/TDE and research/remediate cyber security vulnerabilities.
Monitoring & Tooling: Configure and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for comprehensive alerting, reporting, and system health monitoring.
Performance Engineering: Conduct advanced SQL optimization and tuning to resolve bottlenecks and improve system response times.
Automation: Utilize UNIX shell scripting to automate routine maintenance tasks and streamline database operations.
Hybrid Cloud Management: Oversee Oracle database hosting on public cloud services and manage MS SQL Server installations and configurations as required.
Qualifications
Core Experience: 10+ years of professional Oracle DBA experience.
Version Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle 12c & 19c, specifically utilizing multi-tenant architecture (CDB/PDB).
Infrastructure Skills: Deep knowledge of Oracle 19c RAC, Grid Infrastructure, and ASM.
Security Mastery: Proven experience with Data Encryption using Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Advanced Security Option (ASO).
Disaster Recovery: Expert-level proficiency in Oracle DataGuard configuration and RMAN recovery procedures.
Technical Stack: Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting and a solid understanding of MS SQL Server database management.
Cloud Awareness: Experience hosting and managing Oracle databases within public cloud environments.
Process Knowledge: Strong experience in Incident, Change, and Configuration Management procedures within a large-scale IT environment.
