Duties & Responsibilities:
• Foster psychological safety during high-pressure response efforts
• Promote fatigue management, healthy shift practices, peer support during extended operations & safe to speak up culture
• Lead and mentor the CDC team to build a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence across both cyber and all hazards response domains
• Act as the primary point of contact for senior management on CDC operations and integrated incident response, providing timely situational awareness and decision support
• Partner with Security & Emergency Management (S&EM) to ensure consistent monitoring, escalation, and communication processes during enterprise-level events
• Promote calm, coordinated leadership under pressure and reinforce a unified, global response model.
• Design and implement efficient workflows for monitoring, detection, and coordinated response to cyber and broader hazards or incidents.
• Ensure CDC playbooks and processes align with corporate emergency management and business continuity frameworks.
• Collaborate with S&EM to assess global intelligence feeds and integrate relevant threat insights into operational monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned across both cyber and enterprise incidents
• Strengthen alignment between cyber and physical threat intelligence, fostering collaboration between CDC and S&EM intelligence teams
• Develop and measure operational effectiveness through meaningful metrics that track response time, situational awareness, and incident coordination quality
• Oversee cyber detection and response technologies while supporting integration with S&EM monitoring platforms where feasible
• Champion automation, analytics, and reporting improvements to enhance shared visibility across Cyber and S&EM functions
• Ensure CDC operations are integrated with S&EM monitoring and incident escalation processes
• Lead coordination of cyber incidents that have broader business or operational impacts, including crisis response scenarios
• Strengthen alignment between cyber threat intelligence and all hazards intelligence for consistent enterprise risk awareness
• Support the Manager of Cyber Defense and S&EM leadership during enterprise wide incident coordination and exercises
Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in a CDC leadership role, with a minimum of 5 years in cyber security and at least 5 years managing a CDC team
• Strong technical expertise in security tools, including SIEM platforms and endpoint protection technologies
• Comprehensive knowledge of incident response frameworks, threat intelligence, and advanced threat detection methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams in high-pressure environments, fostering collaboration and performance excellence
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience working with vendors and engineering teams to influence tool development and close detection gaps
• A proactive approach to learning and applying emerging trends in cyber security and threat mitigation
• Experience collaborating with emergency management, crisis response, or business continuity teams.
• Strong situational awareness and communication skills, capable of briefing senior leaders across technical and operational domains.
• Proven ability to lead during multi-domain incidents requiring both cyber and S&EM coordination.
