    ASAP start until June 2022 with view to extendBrisbane southern suburbs Our Queensland State Government client leads the research and development of biosecurity measures across the region. Operating within the largest program, you will be involved in managing the technical aspects of the Program’s Remote Sensing Surveillance (RSS) Project. The role acts as the key interface point between the technical expertise provided by the consultants and the Program’s own capacity for wider surveillance design. A portion of the role is also focused on ‘interpreting’ how to transition from existing bespoke data collection and management systems for mapping and job processing into the Program’s own enterprise system (FAMS) to enable job generation and validation and detection results to be handled within its existing corporate environment. Duties:Process and analyse aerial imagery, airborne and digital spatial data to detect change and relate this to the Program’s surveillance strategyAnalyse spread patterns and highest risk areas using a range of tools including but not limited to spread modelling, mathematical modelling, and spatial information.Undertake expert interpretation of aerial and other digital imagery and spatial data to delineate and monitor infestation change and produce intelligence findings and recommendations to support operational planning and reporting.Develop and deliver high quality, scientifically defensible mapping products, data, expert reports, publications and reporting tools that include quantitative and statistical analysis and/or visualisation of data and results. Skills & Experience:A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in geography, geospatial science, data science, remote sensing, surveying, or related data science discipline.SQL and GIS experienceAt least one coding language (Python preferred) – desiredA valid ‘C’ class driver’s license is essential.It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
