    Queensland Government Department Brisbane CBD locationASAP start Our public sector client is responsible for developing and implementing programs to protect and enhance Australia’s primary industries. This role will be responsible for developing a range of engagement materials, operational policy, briefings and correspondence for the effective management of freshwater fisheries. You will be liaising and consulting across government and with a range of external stakeholder groups to implement programs of work. This initial contract will be engaged on full time hours until December 21 with the view to extend. Duties:Providing administrative, engagement, operational policy and data analysis support.Ensure modern, flexible and best practice policy for the management of freshwater pest fish in Queensland.Enhance and maintain recreational fishing opportunities, particularly in freshwater, through improved fish stocking strategies and stakeholder engagement.Prepare meeting materials, reports, briefings, correspondence, policies and procedures and other materials which support the work of the department. Skills & Experience:Experience in providing administrative and policy support Possession of a degree in science, applied science, or equivalent qualifications in a field relevant to the positionCandidates who have recently graduated from a tertiary qualification in water management, ecology or natural resources are encouraged to apply.It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
