    We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a well established client of ours with operation in Manitoba. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and provides engineering level support for initiating and managing projects at the Brandon plant, assisting process and production personnel in problem solving, and assisting maintenance personnel in technical and design issues of existing and new equipment.Advantages-Excellent compensation and benefits plan-Opportunities for advancement-Excellent work cultureResponsibilities-Initiate, manage and complete capital projects as assigned.-Develop and document project scope, schedule and cost details.-Complete engineering design for small projects.-Coordinate outside engineering firms for detailed engineering of complex projects.-Initiate, prepare, issue and administer CARs for capital projects.-Hire, and manage qualified outside contractors for project construction.-Execute projects as approved and in accordance with the capital plan.-Manage projects consistent with Responsible Care and Process Safety Management guidelines.-Utilize Change Management processes, perform Process Hazard Analyses and complete Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.-Develop and communicate Contractor Safe Work plans. Supervise contractors performing work on site.-Audit Safe Work Permits and Contractor work performance to ensure compliance with safety and quality expectations.-Support Brandon Plant Personnel in solving technical issues related to plant equipment and reliability.-Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and projects to support safety and cost improvements across the facility.Qualifications-Mechanical Engineering degree-5 years related engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment (Sodium Chlorate production or handling experience an asset)-Strong project management skills and experience.
