Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead and manage all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial charter and scoping to execution and decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.
Strategic Planning: Develop detailed implementation roadmaps for transitioning from on-premises PBX (VoIP) to modern cloud telephony, including softphones, paging systems, and automated tools.
Financial & Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, provide financial management for procurements, manage contract negotiations, and supervise assigned internal and external technical staff.
Lifecycle Management: Manage the upgrade of current UC platforms to version 15 to ensure operational continuity while planning the long-term migration to the cloud.
Stakeholder Engagement: Negotiate with executives, senior management, and partners to align competing priorities and report on progress, risks, and milestones.
Procurement & Governance: Prepare formal contractual documents (RFP, SOW, SLA) and ensure all project protocols adhere to the Project Management Institute (PMI) Code of Ethics and corporate standards.
Risk & Quality Control: Maintain RAID logs, manage change requests, and implement quality assurance procedures to ensure projects remain within scope, budget, and schedule.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing.
Experience: Proven track record managing large-scale IT projects in complex, multi-departmental environments, specifically focusing on telephony and collaboration infrastructure (VoIP, SIP-based calling, Cisco UC, and Microsoft Teams).
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of cloud-based UC systems (Direct Routing, Operator Connect), networking architecture (VPN, Session Border Controllers, MPLS), and security devices (Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
Communication: Exceptional skills in presenting technical status updates to executive-level stakeholders and managing diverse technical teams.
Tools: High proficiency in Microsoft Project and other standard project management software.
